Born in Scotland, Donna Raine moved to the town 17 years ago. She said: “I had a midlife crisis nearly three years ago and decided to do something different. “That's when I came across challenges on the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance website. So far, I’ve done the Trek Tanzania and The Alps, which was three countries in three days. “I have arranged a lot of charity events including a bingo night, race night, psychic night, an 80's disco and many quizzes over the years. When Jenny Murphy and her partner visited the facility on Riverside Drive, Rickmansworth on Saturday, August 31, they were bizarrely greeted by a large coffin that had been left nearby. Jenny told RICKYnews: “We didn’t really have a clue what to think. "We were just laughing to be honest. It wasn’t particularly eerie, it was just surprising. In 2017, over 100 staff and supporters of The Cure Parkinson’s Trust (CPT) took to the streets to take part in the iconic Ricky Road Race. This year, they are asking for your support once again to run, jog or walk with Team CPT and help raise urgently needed funds for research into a cure for Parkinson’s. Taking place on October 27, the Ricky Road Run route covers 10 miles through the scenic, hilly roads and lanes of Rickmansworth and Chorleywood. This annual event sees over 600 runners and walkers of all abilities take part. People are invited to join the race on October 27 It starts at 10.30am at the Chorleywood Working Men's Club on Shepherds Lane.
