    295 PERFORMERS, 64 ORIGINAL DANCE WORKS, 2 WEEKS, 1 VENUE! Sixty dance companies/choreographers will convene in a luminous celebration of contemporarydance during the 9 th Annual CoolNY 2012 Dance Festival . This two-week extravaganza will present the vast spectrumof facility by burgeoning ensembles led by inventive rising choreographers along with eminent dancemakers with adefinitive national and international zeal. CoolNY will feature two Saturday matinees dedicated to kids and families toprovide an entertaining and educational experience for all. All CoolNY programming is provided for FREE andcontributions are greatly appreciated in order to continue festival presentations. WHITE WAVE cordially invites festivalgoer’s t o attend our OPENING NIGHT BENEFIT to commemorate the commencement of another outstandingseason of New York dance. All performances take place at WHITE WAVE John Ryan Theater located at 25 Jay Street on the Brooklyn waterfront(entrance on John Street). Our productions were created in response to the needs of emerging artists; they present srcinal and cutting-edge danceworks at no or a very low cost to participating dancemakers. WHITE WAVE relieves choreographers from the highcosts of self-production, promotion, and space rental in the competitive NYC market.Our festivals also offer invaluable professional development opportunities for rising choreographers; for many,appearing at WHITE WAVE has been a crucial stepping stone in their career development. WHITE WAVE’s most recent productions include the 11th annual DUMBO DANCE FESTIVAL (Sept. 23rd -25 th : over 120 choreographers) and the 6th Annual WAVE RISING SERIES (Oct. 19th – Nov. 6 th : 24 companies presenting indepth works). On Nov. 4th and 5th, WHITE WAVE Young Soon Kim Dance Company (WWYSKDC) presented theWorld Premiere performances of  Here NOW: Architectural Design of the Human Heart  at the Museum of Arts andDesign (2 Columbus Circle). Choreographer Young Soon Kim and her collaborators – Marco Cappelli(composer/musician), David Tirosh (video), James Leverett (dramaturg), Yuriy Nayer (lighting design) and Anna Kiraly(costume consultant) –   along with the company’s 11 splendid dancers – produced truly spectacular sights and soundsfor our rapt audiences. WWYSKDC will be embarking on an Asian Tour of 3 cities in Korea and China in May and June of 2012.
